Tommaso Traetta’s ANTIGONE, is presented in a groundbreaking new production based on Sophocles’ tragedy. Traetta’s music is interpreted in an inspired, contemporary way, which transcends genre with modern sounds and visuals. The orchestration is completely innovative in the world of opera and combines technology with traditional, classical and electric instruments, creating a unique sound.
The stage direction of ANTIGONE is based primarily on the artists themselves with an absence of built sets, using the immaculate interior of Island Hall itself.
